鬼剃頭,醫學名稱為斑禿,(又稱為圓禿,英文Alopecia Areata),更多關於鬼剃頭:
是一種脫髮的疾病。斑禿跟雄性禿、地中海等常見的脫髮問題不同,斑禿所脫落的頭髮面積較細,為頭皮局部性班片狀脫髮,大多數是圓形或橢圓形,像是硬幣面積的脫髮。嚴重的斑禿除了會在頭髮上脫髮,也可以伸延至身體不同部位,令到眼睫毛,眉毛及其他邊毛掉落。 通常在斑禿剛剛開始時,脫髮的區域較細,只有直徑1-2cm,但隨著時間的過去,鬼剃頭的區域會愈變愈大,而且邊緣的頭髮也會漸漸變得稀薄,有脫落的跡像。一般斑禿的患者,會在數月至一年內自行痊瘉,在頭髮脫落的位置,慢慢地長出新生的頭髮,但亦有部分斑禿患者無法自行痊癒。 在現時的科學研究中發現,任何年齡和性別的人,都可能會出現斑禿,而最為常見是20歲到40歲的年紀,男性跟女性發病的機率是差不多的。
每1000人當中,便會有1人患上斑禿,雖然說任何人士也可以患上斑禿,但綜合中西醫的意見後,易有斑禿的人士,有以下的特徵: 家族成員患有此病、白蝕患者、抑鬱症患者、異位性皮膚炎、甲狀腺病患者 工作壓力大人士。

What is Alopecia Areata?
Alopecia Areata (commonly known as patchy hair loss or "spot baldness") is an autoimmune condition that causes hair to fall out in small, localized patches. Unlike male-pattern baldness or thinning, these patches are usually the size of a coin—round or oval in shape. In severe cases, the condition can extend beyond the scalp, leading to the loss of eyelashes, eyebrows, or other body hair.
